  • Ticket number
  • License number

Do you have to appear in court?

Not always. NJ Courts says you may pay without appearing if the "Court Appearance Required" box is not checked on the complaint and the charge is on the Statewide or Local Violations Bureau Schedule. Criminal matters always need a court appearance. The Violations Bureau Schedule on njcourts.gov shows payable amounts for common violations where no appearance is required.

Before you pay

Paying a ticket means pleading guilty, and that can add points. Read pay or plead not guilty and points and surcharges first.
